AECP - Celebrations: Stencil & Embossing Paste
Updated: Sep 14, 2020
Today I am sharing a card using stencil and embossing paste. This technique is very fun and quick to make an amazing background. You just need to be patient ( in which I don’t have any lol…) while waiting for the paste to dry.
Starting this card, I used an A2 white cardstock panel attaching the stencil to it by using low-tack tape at the back so that the pasting on the front would not be interrupted by tape. I placed two small mounds of texture paste on the craft mat, then added green watercolor to one mound and blue watercolor to the other. With a palette knife I mixed it individually, I kept adding color and mixing till I was happy with the colors. Afterward, I applied the green paste about half way on the panel, then I switched to the blue paste to finish the entire panel. Then, set it aside to dry.
While the panel was drying, I stamped the flower and cut it out with its die. I also stamped a sentiment and trimmed it down into a stripe.
After the panel was completely dry. I die cut the panel into two parts with a scallop rectangle die. I adhered the outer part directly onto a black card base. Then foam taped the flower on the inner part of the panel and foam mounted the inner part to create dimension on this project. I attached a sentiment and tied a bow with twine on the flower. I also embellished my project using my current favorite clear drops to finishing the look.
This project was fun and satisfying to make. My favorite part was adding the texture paste from one color to another color, it blended into a third color. I hope you give this a try, and experiment with different colors.
Thank you for dropping by, hope you all have a lovely day!
